Painting: Creating a Sense of Wonder!Apart from the fact that painting, drawing and other forms of art, are a requirement for all that we produce in our society, as a painter I experience a marvelous sense of wonder when painting for any reason. The colors and the way they intermingle encourages a focus of fascination. Hypnotic! A grade school teacher held up a painting for us that was completely covered in dots - dots of pure color. Looking at it from a distance it became a wonderful scene of people walking along a beach. How cool is that? The whole idea of it was marvellous. Separate dots that made up a whole - kind of like our universe. Painting makes me feel connected and entertained. I used to say that I felt the world was put here for my entertainment and laugh. There were a few raised eyebrows at that statment but I meant it. It entertains me in the same way watching a child does. It makes me to want to care for the earth, this planet, as I care for myself or my family. It is very special. Looking at Art Can Make You SlimmerIf you are putting weight on around your middle you may want to take up visiting art galleries. Stress hormones can cause weight gain and viewing art reduces those stress hormones.Artists Keep Painting! We are providing a much needed service to the general population which is totally stressed from all the terrifying reports we are subjected to every day in the news and on television. So keep on painting and sculpting and helping to improve the good health of those who may partake of your artful creations.View Art Instead of TelevisionCertain television broadcasts are themselves real stress producers. It may be a good idea to get out to the art galleries instead and a lot more often. When not art viewing, painting, sculpting etc. walking in any woods left uncemented seems to be effective in reducing stress in the most pleasant of ways. This of course is doubly good for us artists who enjoy plein air painting. |
