Contemporary

There are two sections to Middler's paintings.In the Contemporary grouping you will notice the interest in how the natural world contrasts with the chaos of cities and urban centres. Nature isn't always peaceful as noted in "Avalanche" and "High Adventure".

Middler also points out some of the resulting busyness in the urban landscapes. "Urban Sprawl" explores the chaos of getting home to the suburbs after a busy day in the City core.

Representational Landscapes

Section Two gives you a glimpse of some of the landscape paintings in watercolour, acrylic and mixed media created since approximately 2005. In the last couple of years there are more contemporary paintings by this artist than realistic landscapes. There were also some historical works and portraits done prior to 2005 which are not included in this grouping.
