"Beginning in 1966, I have been involved in art as a Fine Artist, Printed Circuit Board Designer, Web Designer and Graphic Artist. And yet, it was only this year when funding was cut for the Fine Arts that I became fully aware of the value and importance of the art we produce. Everything requires the hand of an artist before it becomes real. Your clothes, car, computer, home . . . you name it needs an artist to create the blueprint first.

So as artists we have the honor and positioning to be the first step in a healthy and sustainable society."

Artist Out of Canada -- Some History cont'd

Are there people who have yet to see real nature?

Canada is one of the few places where you can still experience nature at it's most beautiful. Were there people out there who had never seen anything but cement? Had they ever seen trees, 300 foot trees, lakes, eagles, owls, deer or coyotes?

The raw natural energy of Canadian Landscape awed. Powerful falls, mountain lions and other inhabitants lived in the mountains which rose and stretched into new beginnings.

Why not "Out of Canada"?

The natural beauty that is seen in the movie "Out of Africa" is somewhat reminiscent of our own wild and beautiful forests. Why not "Out of Canada"? That name gradually morphed into "Artist Out Of Canada" matching the goal of creating an appreciation and respect for nature internationally.

Money won't replace the oxygen

Wholesale cutting of forest may provide money and swimming pools in someone's back yard but money won't replace the oxygen these missing trees are providing for all of us to breathe.

We see good health as beautiful.

As amazing images of Canada go out internationally people will take more interest in their surroundings. These images are beautiful to us because they have so much value in terms of creating health and well being. And we recognize that automatically at a deep level.

The True Wealth

The true wealth is our amazing green and blue planet. Let's keep it a vibrant green and blue. The haze over some places is reversable. Many years ago fish couldn't survive in the Thames River and now they can. The Thames was a wonderful achievement. It is exciting to think of what we can do.

Appreciation Works!

Awareness is the first step. Feeling good about it is the second step. After that is is easy and fun and exciting.

We get what we are focused on

We continually get more and more of what we are focused on and that is specifically why fear doesn't work but appreciation does.

"Appreciation leads us to protect and care for our true valuables and loved ones. Trees, fresh air, clean water etc. are definitely the most valuable assets we have on this beautiful earth. Art contributes to saving our environment, benefiting everyone's health and well being. So this rather strange subjective activity of producing art has surprising importance and value to all of us."
